The Scheduling Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining the efficient and organized scheduling of production, ensuring that materials, components, and finished goods are synchronized for smooth operations.
This position involves constant communication between Customer Service, Procurement, and Engineering, with a focus on real-time updates, quality control of work orders, and effective scheduling.
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing the Rolling Schedule for production, providing guidance to the shipping department, and maintaining accurate delivery schedules within the ERP system.
Proficiency in Excel and the ERP system is essential for this role.
Key
Responsibilities:
Scheduling Tool Management:
Maintain and update the scheduling tool with the most current statuses to ensure production is synchronized with materials and components.
Interdepartmental Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact between Customer Service, Procurement, and Engineering, facilitating seamless communication and coordination.
Procurement Collaboration:
Communicate consistently with Procurement to track missing components and finished goods, confirming their arrival and ensuring they are readily available for production.
Engineering Collaboration:
Maintain constant communication with the Engineering department to request the creation or modification of Bills of Material (BOM) as needed for accurate production.
Work Order Oversight:
Identify components that do not belong in work orders and make necessary changes to align them with what the production floor is using, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
Understand how products are built, be continuously involved in the production process on the line.
Rolling Schedule Control:
Manage the Rolling Schedule for production, calculating production volume and efficiency by unifying SKU production, optimizing resource allocation.
Shipping Schedule:
Provide the shipping department with a daily schedule that adheres to deadlines and cutoff times, ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
Delivery Time Control:
Control scheduled delivery times and update delivery times within the ERP system to maintain accurate order tracking and meet customer expectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Additional certification in production scheduling or related fields is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
Strong understanding of ERP systems to manage inventory, production orders, and scheduling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate interdepartmental collaboration.
Attention to detail and the ability to make real-time adjustments for efficient scheduling.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize production and scheduling.
Adaptability and the ability to handle changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing and logistics processes.
Reporting:
The Scheduling Coordinator collaborates with multiple departments, including Customer Service, Procurement, Engineering, and the shipping department, to ensure production scheduling is optimized and aligned with business objectives.
This role may report to a Production Manager or Operations Manager.
