Summary:
The Lead Milk Technician will serve as a resource to the Milk Room staff and function as a liaison to the interdisciplinary team.
The Lead Milk Technician must have strong communication skills, full knowledge of all Milk Room operations and must be able to perform all daily essential functions.
The Lead Milk Technician will thereby be able to assist the Milk Room Manager in employee training, managing breast milk and formula inventory, scheduling and coverage needs for the department.
Detailed
Responsibilities:
Performs all Milk Room positions and functions Assists with training and onboarding new employees.
Follows the Milk Room training handbook and utilizes the Infant Feeding Guidelines book and 4 weeks training course that covers all aspects of the Milk Room.
Completes training checklist for new hires, communicates with Manager regarding progress of new hire and suggests updates or modification to training manual/material.
Inventory Management for tracking purposes, ensures all products are stocked appropriately and rotated using expiration date order in all storage units and communicates with Manager about supplies needed including donor milk and Prolacta Serves as a resource to Milk Room staff to answer questions, concerns and needs related to Milk Room process and assist with ongoing Milk Tech educational in-services Escalates to Milk Room Manager all requests that cannot be handled at the Team Lead level Assists with scheduling and coverage needs Competencies and skills:

JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology/Oncology and other specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year).
They also have the area's largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO.
JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state.
Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our 3 emergency rooms across the county per year.
JDCH's services continue to grow with the opening of the new specialty center/ambulatory surgery center in Palm Beach County in 2018 and a new ambulatory pavilion in Miramar, near Miami-Dade County which will open in 2021.
